INDIA PLANS VISA ON ARRIVAL TO MANY COUNTRIES...!

India is following the popular path of Singapore to issue visa on arrival for tourists from many countries very soon. Those countries are as follows:
SRILANKA, HONGKONG, MALAYSIA,MALDIVES,PHILLIPINES, US, UK, JAPAN, FRANCE, GERMANY, NEWZEALAND,BELGIUM,SPAIN, SWEDEN, LUXUMBERG, NEDERLAND, FINLAND, S.KOREA, VIETNAM, CHILE, MEXICO AND ARGENTINA
(PAKISTAN :only certain visitors from 2004)

But surprisingly NORWAY was not in the "visa on arrival" list, despite Hon.Finance Minister of INDIA: Mr.P.Chidambaram declared NORWAY as a most favoured nation partner of trading , as well as Hon.Finance Minister of Norway:Kristin Halvorsen declared good ties with India as good for Norwegian economy during his visit to NORWAY in 2007.

Norwegian Tamils who started to arrive in Norway from SriLanka after 1965 because of CEYNOR project in Jaffna then largely after 1983 pogrom by Sinhalese as refugees as well as students. Most of them became Norwegian citizens after 7 years of residence here.

But unfortunately Indian Embassy/Oslo is still charging 50,-NKr(1NKR=8IRs)extra as a fax fee to check all of them through Colombo, all Norsk-Tamils who are living here for more than 22 years as well as children who were born here who are mostly hindus and want to go on pilgrimage to Hindu temples in N/S.India. They charge for a visa fee 400,-nkr from native Norwegians, mostly Christians while hindu Tamils pay 450,-nkr for even children who know nothing about SL-conflict.
Indian Embassy also insisting the Tamil pilgrims who want to go to Northern Indian temples to go through Chennai only eventhough they paid and get the visa for the whole india.This type of
unreasonable/unnecessary restrictions made tamils very frustrated with Indian Embassy/ Foreign Ministry.We hope/pray that they will change this type of attitude/practice soon.

We hope Hon.Minister:Dr.P.Chidamparam and his ruling allies PMK:Dr.Ramathas, M.P. DMK:Dr.M.Karunanidhi, CM/TN take necessary steps to remove these unreasonable, negative discriminatory practices of the Indian Embassies abroad by appealing to Hon.Foreign Minister:Pranab Mukerji urgently.
